NIGERIAN DWARF SOCIETY FUTURITY The Nigerian Dwarf Society Futurity, as described herein, is a program dedicated to showcasing the nation's Nigerian Dwarfs and their breeders. It is a goal that many Nigerian Dwarf breeders across the country accept this opportunity to display their skills as breeders of conformationally correct and productive dairy goats. This Futurity shall serve to promote and advance the Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat as a true miniature dairy goat.
Eligibility:
1. ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf; for kids under 6 months of age, a pending registration application will suffice. Proof of ADGA registration will be required for re-entry into the program the following year;
2. Nominations must be made by ADGA members currently in good standing;
3. No limit as to the number of does nominated;
4. Any doe sold following initial nomination remains eligible regardless of ownership, provided subsequent re-entry payments are made, and written notification of sale is made to the Futurity Secretary by former owner within thirty (30) days of sale;
5. No refunds will be made whether an animal remains eligible for futurity or not. The responsibility of re-entry remains wholly with the current owner of the nominated goat.
Nomination Information & Fees:
1. Nomination for a kid must be made within 6 months from the date of birth (postmarks shall govern);
2. Nomination forms must be filled out completely and correctly on the Official NDS Futurity Entry Form;
3. Re-entry forms and payments for yearlings and 2 yr. olds must be made no later than June 1 of each year. Postmarks shall govern. Any re-entry forms/payments received after this date shall be returned to the owner, and the animal shall be deemed ineligible from that point on.
4. Entry or re-entry fees to be paid by the current owner of the animal being nominated. All entry fees/forms and re-entry fees/forms shall be sent to the Futurity Secretary.
5. All deadlines will be strictly adhered to, with postmarks governing.
6. Fee Schedule:
Determination of Winners/Premiums: 1. Each year, eligible does will have their performance scores tallied and averaged for a final score. An eligible doe is one that has been nominated as a kid, and re-entry forms/fees have been current for the following two (2) years (Yearling & 2 Yr. Old). An eligible doe MUST reach the age of three (3), thereby completing a full 2-yr. old term in order to have final scores tallied. 2. Performance scores will be based on not less than two (2), nor more than three (3) of the following categories: 1.) ADGA Sanctioned Show Records; 2.) Linear Appraisal Scores; and/or 3.) DHIA Records; 305-day Milk Test/Official 1-day Milk Test. Scores are determined as follows:
